• John 21:15-17

To love someone is to provide pasture for them. You cannot love without provision. That is why the Word of God says:

“THE Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

David was not only speaking prophetically, but he was speaking out of the relationship he had with God. Knowing that God loves him and that he is dedicated to Him, there was absolutely nothing that he needed that God could not take care of.

Therefore, because he knew God loves him, He (God) would always “Feed” him.

Jesus Christ used the same Word to Peter when they ate together after His resurrection.

The Bible says: “When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these [others do–with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Feed My lambs. Again He said to him the second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Shepherd (tend) My sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with a deep, instinctive, personal affection for Me, as for a close friend]? Peter was grieved (was saddened and hurt) that He should ask him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.”
‭‭John‬ ‭21:15-17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The English word “feed” comes from the Greek word “Bosko”. Bosko means many things, but one of the meanings is to provide pastures. That means the same way as God is our shepherd and provides for us because He loves us. He also makes sure we lack nothing. We must learn to copy His examples and do the same to the people Jesus Christ paid the price for.

“…..Freely you have received; freely give.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You cannot go ahead professing God’s love for people without providing pastures for them.

“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭NIV

Remember: Love is a provider of pastures.

Make Kingdom business your priority by providing pastures for people, and God will make sure you lack nothing.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
