Today we read:
Revelation 1-5

– Food for thought day 339 –

• 1 Corinthians 1:30
• 2 Corinthians 3:5

It is God’s choice that you should be in Jesus. It was God Who said that Jesus should go and He went. It was God who put you in Jesus. Therefore you also need God to love.

‘But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].’

Love is not a human idea but God’s. That’s why you need God’s love to be able to love. For the love of human beings is based on what one has done for another. Human beings can only give what they know; however, God goes beyond what one knows.

‘Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God.’

Remember: you need God’s love. It’s not in your ability to love those who are difficult to love. For without God you can’t love.
