Today we read:
Ezekiel 31-34

• Galatians 5:16-17

The Word of God says: “Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].”

There is no way you can function in God’s love when you are carnally minded (being ruled by fleshly appetites). Walking in God’s Love has to do with you being baptized (controlled) by the Holy Spirit. The work of the flesh is a complete opposite to that of the Spirit. They’re against each other(Galatians 5:17). That is why you must constantly yield to the Holy Spirit so that God’s love can dominate in you always.

Now whenever you’re not walking in the Spirit, you’re in the flesh. “In the flesh” means, you’re self-willed and functioning selfishly. Selfishness is the direct opposite of love.

For this reason, the Bible says: “But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).”

Remember: Love is not seeking its own.
