Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5
Most people find it difficult to trust God. That is why they find it difficult to surrender all to Him. They are thinking that God is a man that makes promises and does not stick to it. For most of them they are still doing things their way. Also, they think, they don’t want to bother God with their problems. So they employ their understanding in dealing with God Almighty.
First and foremost, when a man comes to God, he believes Him with his heart, not with his head (understanding).
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10
And secondly, we serve God with our spirit (heart), not with our head (understanding).
For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of His Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers” Romans 1:9
Thirdly God is a Spirit. The Bible did not say God is an understanding or a sense. So using your understanding to grasp the things of God is a waste of time.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
So we trust God with our heart, not our head (understanding).
Maybe before you have got saved or you are still to be save. You used to trust people and they disappointed you. So you are thinking with your head (understanding) that God Almighty is same.
This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord” Jeremiah 17:5
You see now your fault. God wants you to trust Him in people and in the situation you are facing in life. He never told you to trust in your money, business partners, wife, husband, kids and so on. He wants you to trust in Him to take care of your cares.
God Almighty wants us to hold fast to His Word and not to what we feel or think. Only Him alone can keep us from falling .
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,….” Jude 1:24
Be renewed in your mind and trust God with your heart.
Let’s pray together and confess with je out loud:
Heavenly Father,
I surrender myself to You. Knowing fully well that, You alone are able to keep me from falling.
