But this is not to be so among you; instead, whoever desires to be great among you must be your servant, And whoever wishes to be most important and first in rank among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.” Mark 10:43-45 AMP

We are living in a time when many aspire to be great, but they do not want to pay the price of greatness. That’s being a servant.

Those who ever become great and stay being great are humble, submissive and follow divine instructions, because they are under authority.

They are not here to serve their own agenda, they’re here to serve the needs of others and are characterised by selflessness.

Everybody wants to be like Jesus Christ our Lord but nobody wants to walk the road which He walked. Everybody wants to be honoured and respected, but nobody wants to be humble and submissive. It’s time for us as children of the Most high God to reexamine ourselves again looking unto Jesus the Christ as our example.

Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,…” Philippians 2:5-9 AMP

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me through Your Spirit to always desire the position of a servant with my whole heart in all I say and do in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
