Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.” Romans 3:23-25 AMPC

The blood of Jesus Christ has delivered and freed us from the power of sin. So that sin will no more Lord over us any more.

Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God].” Romans 4:25 AMPC

When I talk of the power of sin I meant : the work of the flesh, the pride of life, the lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16) and the power of satan (Acts 26:18). All this was dealth with when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and saviour.

That’s why sin shall no more Lord over us because we are not under the law govern by fleshly dictates but we’re under grace.

For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God’s favor and mercy].” Romans 6:14 AMPC

And this grace life works for us as we allow God’s word to Lord over us. That’s why we commanded to fight the good fight of faith. We must learn to put on God’s word when the enemy bombards us with his suggestions to misled us from the truth and also practice it when we are confronted with life situations. That’s how we fight the good fight of faith and that’s also how sin does not dominate us. By so doing well give room for God’s grace to work through us in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. I thank You that sin has no more dominion over me for I am not under the law but under grace in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen
