While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.” Romans 5:6-8 AMP

The Bible says:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 KJV

This is no more religion were people are labelled based on code of conduct or do unto others what you expect should be done to you. 

When your love for God is always about you, then you are practicing the natural human kind of love, which is selfish. The God kind of love is pure and unselfish (1 Corinthians 13:5).

Some of the characteristics of this love are:

• Think of others first (1 Corinthians 10:24)
• Give someone else the first choice (Acts 20:35)
• It’s not greedy and selfish (John 15:13)

This is an example of the: “AS I HAVE LOVED YOU” LOVE OF GOD IN JESUS CHRIST MIGHTY NAME. Today examine yourself in the light of God’s Word and allow the Holy Spirit help you practice this love.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me practice the love that You gave to me through Jesus Christ our Lord. In Jesus Christ mighty Name, Amen.
