Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.” Luke 17:1-5 HSV
The spirit of offense is an end time spirit. It’s caused by satan to bring division, resentment and disunity among the brethren. Jesus Christ our Lord told us it will come. That implies we should be on our guard not to be offended or become resentful because of what someone has done against us. And Jesus Christ advices us to let go of offense.
Sometimes people are so controlled by their carnal appetite in a way that everything offends them. It’s time as children of God to learn to walk in the spirit and allow the Love of God dominate us or this end time spirit can cause your salvation.
That’s why Jesus Christ says forgive if someone is wronged you. Harboring offense is a seed of selfishness because we all make mistakes. It’s not always about you and what people did to you is about Jesus Christ and reaching out to the lost so that they will repent. Don’t permit the spirit of offense stop you from fulfilling God’s plan and purpose for your life.
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.” James 5:9 KJV
Offense against one another brings judgment and condemnation. That’s why God Almighty told us to follow His plan of Love which is an act of faith towards God. Faith in God is working through Love.
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” Galatians 5:6 KJV
Today follow God’s plan for your life which is Love and the Bible calls it a more excellent way.
