Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5:7 KJV

The word mercy means letting go of what someone, who deserves to be punished for the wrong he or she did, because he or she asked for forgiveness.

That’s what Jesus did on the cross for Love sake on our behalf. He pleads for mercy. God wants us to treat all the same from our hearts as Jesus did to us. True love in Christ forgives and forgets the wrong and magnifies the good. In other words, the Love of God always demonstrates mercy.

If we choose not to show mercy by letting go we also will not receive mercy when we make mistakes. (Please read Mathew 18:23-34)

And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.” Matthew 18:34-35 KJV

True Love in Christ Jesus shows mercy.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I choose to show mercy to my offenders as you’ve always done to me in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
