If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Doubt is a thief that robs many from God’s blessings. It is not about what we are asking from God or saying out of our lips. The key is we should not doubt. Doubt is a sign,we are not saying or asking whatever we want in faith.

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:21-22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The key is not what we are saying! The key is “doubt”. There is no need to limit God by doubting Him. We must trust His faithfulness as our promise keeper

The Word of the Lord says ask in faith. In other words, ask based on what Christ has already done on our behalf and has promised us in His word. Many have been frustrated in this area because the are trying to have faith in their own faith. We should always know and remember that it was not our faith that saved us but the faith of God which He gave to us, saved us. We function on this earth by God’s faith given to us not on our own faith.

I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

When asking God of anything we must focus our faith on the finished work of Christ and hang on it. And by so doing, knowing not believing or thinking, we will receive what we are asking from Him.

Today take authority over the spirit of doubt and rely on God’s faithfulness in Jesus name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank you for Your Word. I bind the spirit of doubt and loose the spirit of faith. And also thank You for granting my request in Jesus name. Amen
