Now while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received and welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was listening to His teaching. But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]! But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion [that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her.”

Many have limited God in their lives because they don’t know Him. Some have allowed what the do for Him to take the place of their intimacy with Him . Where we created by God to be intimate with Him. What we do for God is secondary to our fellowship with Him. God wants us to know Him so that we will be effective in fulfilling His plans and purpose for our lives.

Martha was more concerned about serving table more than magnifying relationship with Jesus. She was anxious and also thought serving tables gives more credit to her than going after relationship. We are called to do exploits for our God but without intimacy we will keep on having surfaced results.

The many things that we pray for or ask God to do for is our lack of intimacy with God. Our intimacy with God will impart knowledge and His power to do exploits.

And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].”‭‭Daniel‬ ‭11:32‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Power follows relationship, for this reason Jesus said Mary has chosen that which is needful.

Today as you fellowship with God may He enlighten your darkness in Jesus name.
