Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored and you shall be clean. But Naaman was angry and went away and said, Behold, I thought he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and heal the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and said to him, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean? Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a little child, and he was clean. Then Naaman returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and stood before him. He said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel. So now accept a gift from your servant.” 2 Kings 5:10-15 AMP

Sometimes God’s instructions through the vessel He is using in our lives can look like a man is controlling or dictating to you. Sometimes we children of God we don’t like to submit when someone speaks to us like a dictator. Especially a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We often say: Who is he to talk to me like that? We must learn to know the difference between God using His vessel to speak to you in authority and men trying to control you.

Naaman nearly missed his miracle because he found Elisha rude the way he spoke and treated him. But his miracle was in the instructions given from God through the man of God. We don’t see God but we see his servants which he is using, delegating authority to us. Our duty is to follow irrespective of how the information is being communicated. In following the instructions we also would experience our miracle. The miracle may not always be things. It maybe character build up. That’s something you can’t buy in the market. Only God can help mold your character into His.

Better is the poor man who walks in his integrity than he who willfully goes in double and wrong ways, though he is rich.” Proverbs 28:6 AMP

We can see that Naaman character towards God’s authority nearly cause him not to receive his miracle. God does not want us to be wise in our own understanding. It’s in submitting to instructions foolishly that we experience our miracles.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me to submit to your instructions, irrespective of how it’s been presented to me in Jesus Christ mighty Name. Amen.
