For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.” Psalms 18:28 AMP

Most of the time we are not enlightened. That’s why we act the way we act.

The word illumines also means enlightened, which means to have spiritual or intellectual insight of a matter. It also means to intruct, to impart knowledge and to shine light on something or to receive spiritual revelations on something.

We can’t really walk in God’s faith without being enlightened by God Almighty in Jesus Christ mighty Name.

The reason why many born again Christians are defeated in life is lack of enlightenment.

This enlightenment comes through God’s Word and most of the time what we read in God’s Word becomes very clear to as we pray in the Holy Spirit.

One of the duty of the Holy Spirit is to impart knowledge.

With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge and superior discernment shall the righteous be delivered.” Proverbs 11:9 AMP

That’s why apostles Paul prayed a prayer for the eyes of our understanding to be enlightened.

[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).” Ephesians 1:17-18 AMP

So without God’s enlightening us we can’t practically apply God’s Word in our daily situation. The bible says:” faith without works is dead.”

Now when we pray in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit enlightens our darkness to help us walk in God’s revelation for our lives.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Thank You for enlightening my darkness today as I practice praying in the Spirit with the Help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty Name, Amen.
