And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them. And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].” Acts 2:3-4 AMP

Praying in The Spirit brings separation from what’s false and genuine in us. It’s also one of the ways in which we can clearly separate what is going on in our spirit, soul and body. 

The ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord was and still is to separate the wheat from the chaff. As we pray in the Spirit with the help of the Holy Spirit the wheat and the chaff is separated. 

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap; [Rev. 6:12-17.] He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the priests, the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord offerings in righteousness.” Malachi 3:2-3 AMP

The word to refine means: “to remove or separate unwanted substance in something.”

Heavenly Father: I thank You for Your Word. Thank You for always separating within me the genuine and the false as I continue praying in The Spirit with the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty Name, Amen.
