But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.] Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy. [Hos. 2:23.] Beloved, I implore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower nature) that wage war against the soul.” 1 Peter 2:9-11 AMP

The truth of the matter is the church of God in Christ is not the world and will never be the world. We are Chosen people called out to show to the world there’s only one true and living God. And also to show to the world that Jesus Christ is alive and He is who He claims to be.

We can only do this when our vision is focused on heaven not on base things in this life which war against our mind. Satan uses the base things of this world to defeat us and deviate us from the heavenly vision that our Lord Jesus Christ is given to us.

That’s why paul said we should set affections on the things that are above. And until our mind is train to focus on the things that are above God’s glory in us will never be made known to the man in the world.

If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Ps. 110:1.] And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3 AMP

It’s time for us to change our visions and start focusing on those things that God wants us to focus on and begin to practice them with the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me to stay focus on the heavenly vision irrespective of my physical  challenges in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
