And when they heard it, lifted their voices together with one united mind to God and said, O Sovereign Lord, You are He Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything that is in them, [Exod. 20:11; Ps. 146:6.]” Acts 4:24 AMP

Now for us to understand how this praise and worship prayer was birthed, please read Acts 3 and 4 completely.

The apostles have performed a notable miracle in Jesus Christ mighty name. And they were forbidden and threatened not to preach in that name.

In the midst of the threat or trials that they were facing at the moment, they started their prayer by praising and magnifying God Almighty for who He is. They did not magnify their trials or asked God to take it away like some of us will do. They instead praised and worshipped God and asked God to show His divine power in the midst of the trial.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.” Psalms 100:4-5 AMP

The bible says: “We should enter God’s gates with praise not with complaints and sadness.” It’s time for us to change our strategy in approaching God Almighty with our praise and worship unto Him just like the apostles did in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father,  I thank You for Your word. I thank You Lord for your goodness and mercy endures forevermore in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
