While He was in one of the towns, there came a man full of (covered with) leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cure me and make me clean. And [Jesus] reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed! And immediately the leprosy left him. And [Jesus] charged him to tell no one [that he might chance to meet], until [He said] you go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your purification, as Moses commanded, for a testimony and proof to the people, that they may have evidence [of your healing]. [Lev. 13:49; 14:2-32.] But so much the more the news spread abroad concerning Him, and great crowds kept coming together to hear [Him] and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. But He Himself withdrew [in retirement] to the wilderness (desert) and prayed.” Luke 5:12-16 AMP

Prayer is one of the way in which you refuel yourself in Christ Jesus in magnifying your office. It is not just about only to reach out to people. You must also learn to renew your strength in God by setting yourself apart to pray. That’s also magnifying your office. It’s also one of the ways in which God Almighty prepare Jesus Christ to enable Him to effectively carry on His daily duty in preaching the gospel and staying committed to His mission on earth.

Now at the setting of the sun [indicating the end of the Sabbath], all those who had any [who were] sick with various diseases brought them to Him, and He laid His hands upon every one of them and cured them. And demons even came out of many people, screaming and crying out, You are the Son of God! But He rebuked them and would not permit them to speak, because they knew that He was the Christ (the Messiah). And when daybreak came, He left [Peter’s house] and went into an isolated [desert] place. And the people looked for Him until they came up to Him and tried to prevent Him from leaving them.” Luke 4:40-42

Jesus has a habit of always getting up early in the morning hours before day break to pray. He did not just go out but He made time first with His Father in prayer.

God expects us to do same for us to be effective in our call of great commission in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me in my prayer life on a daily base with you in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
