AFTER THESE events, God tested and proved Abraham and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here I am. [God] said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will tell you. So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and his son Isaac; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and then began the trip to the place of which God had told him.” Genesis 22:1-3 AMPC

It takes knowing the character of God, which can only happen in relationship, for one to obey God in the most difficult times and moments in our lives. Abraham knew who God was and also he knew that God Almighty was able to raise Isaac from the death. Abraham also knew that God is not interested in destroying the lives of His own creatures. So in obedience knowing who God is he (Abraham) trusted God.

By faith Abraham, when he was put to the test [while the testing of his faith was still in progress], had already brought Isaac for an offering; he who had gladly received and welcomed [God’s] promises was ready to sacrifice his only son, [Gen. 22:1-10.] Of whom it was said, Through Isaac shall your descendants be reckoned. [Gen. 21:12.] For he reasoned that God was able to raise [him] up even from among the dead. Indeed in the sense that Isaac was figuratively dead [potentially sacrificed], he did [actually] receive him back from the dead.” Hebrews 11:17-19 AMPC

Many find it difficult to trust God Almighty because they don’t know who He is. And without trust in God we can’t never fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me by your Spirit to trust You in all affair of my life as I magnify Your relationship with me in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
