Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
God Almighty calls us the light of the world. Now the only thing that expels darkness is light. The world that we live in is full of darkness. That’s to say evil works due to the wicked one (satan) in this world. We’re here because God Almighty wants to expel darkness through us as His light.
So wherever you are placed in this world, that is to say at your job, at your school or prison or whatever you may be doing in this life, know that God allows you to be placed there: To Shine His light through you. Please never you lose sight of that. A great example is Philip. Please read Acts 8:26-40.
And the angel of the Lord spoke unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.” Acts 8:26-31 KJV
If you notice verse 31 the man said ” ….. how can I except some man should guide me.” You see he was in the dark but He needed someone to shine light to his darkness so that he can see.
So are we to shine the light of God Almighty in all we do and say in this world. That’s also how can win souls for the Lord.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me by Your Spirit to allow Your Light in me to shine in someone’s darkness today in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
