But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips!” Colossians 3:8 AMP
God Almighty will never ask us to do something that He has not given us the ability to do. He did not just ask us to put of, but He also told us to be cloth with Christ.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” Romans 13:14 KJV
We can’t be cloth with Christ or talk like Jesus when we don’t spend time with Him. That’s in the word and in prayer. It’s one thing to read the bible and it’s another thing to practice. The transformation of our speaking is born out of fellowship with Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit. It’s not something that can be attained by our human ability.
And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP
The last part says: “for this comes from the Lord Who is the Spirit.” This is the secret of tongue transformation as we allow the Holy Spirit to take control over our mouth in Jesus Christ mighty name.
