And in the same way the ones sown upon stony ground are those who, when they hear the Word, at once receive and accept and welcome it with joy; And they have no real root in themselves, and so they endure for a little while; then when trouble or persecution arises on account of the Word, they immediately are offended (become displeased, indignant, resentful) and they stumble and fall away.” Mark 4:16-17 AMP

Many are becoming bitter and displeased in these last days due to persecutions or trying times. Some thought: ‘Because I have Jesus Christ in my life, I will not go through trying times or persecutions.’

I have a good news for you: Persecutions come to us as Christians because of the Word of God which you’ve heard or received. How you handle persecution says a lot about your relationship with God’s Word.

Our above mentioned text says ” ………trouble or persecutions arises on account of the Word….” So the trouble or persecutions in your life is there to test God’s Word in you. If we are offended and give up, that means God’s Word in us did not take root in our lives. Though when we first heard of it we shouted with joy.

As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.” Psalm 18:30 AMP

So don’t let tests and trials deviate you from meditating on God’s Word or holding fast to His Word.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me to hold fast to Your Word irrespective of the trouble and persecutions around me in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
