For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.” Psalms 18:28 AMP
Most of the time we want God to lead us apart from studying God’s word. God’s word is our light, without light no one can see. So is God’s word to all of us. I am talking about all in this life, both believers in Jesus Christ or unbelievers without Jesus Christ in their lives.
In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. There it was–the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person. [Isa. 49:6.]. John 1:4,9 AMP
So if Jesus Christ is the true light, then any other light is fake. For example you maybe feeling very sick right now. The doctors have written you off. Then all of a sudden you came across at this two wonderful text in God’s word.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.” Psalms 91:15-16 AMP
He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 AMP
These two beautiful scriptures are come to shine light to your situation. First, God does not want you to die prematurely, but He wants to satisfy you with long life. And secondly, Jesus took your sicknesses on Him on the cross in exchange for your healing. As you claim this scriptures to be yours, the power of the living Christ will manifest in your flesh and that is your light.
So we miss out a lot when we don’t study the Bible. The Word of God is our light.
