God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Psalms 46:1

The word refuge means: A place that provides shelter or protection from danger or distress. For example, a refugee that comes to another country to seek asylum due to the fact that the conditions in their country is unfavourable for living or survival.

First and foremost, it was the refugee’s decision to seek for asylum. Secondly, asylum is granted to people that meet the criteria for an asylum. Thirdly, even when you are granted the permission to stay in your new country of residence you have to succumb to the rules of your adopted country or else it won’t benefit you. (Please read Joshua 20:1-6)

That is who God is to us and to the man in the world who is willing from his heart to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord over his life.

As you are willing to accept your inabilities to resolve issues on your own before Him, God Almighty will be a refuge unto you and you will start experiencing victories in places where you use to struggle or fail.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.” Psalm 91:1-2

Let’s pray together and confess with me out loud:

Heavenly Father,

I repent from counting on my abilities to resolve my issues. I am tired of struggling or always trying to make my point or prove myself. I take refuge in you and I boldly declare you as my refuge. Thank you for turning my failures and struggles into victories in Jesus Name. Amen.
