Today we read:
Deuteronomy 6-7

• 1 Peter 4:8

Nowadays we see a lot of betrayals because everyone wants to make his or her point and be in the spotlight.

The truth is Jesus is the point and suffered betrayal and disgrace for us all that believe in Him. He is the propitiation for our sins and doesn’t condemn us, but lives to make intercession for us daily.

We as believers are supposed to be great examples of being discreet and learn to cover one another’s faults like our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Word of God says: “Above all things have an intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others]. [Prov. 10:12.]”

We must learn to be long-suffering towards one another and also bear one another’s faults by praying for one another thus fulfilling the love law of Christ.

“I THEREFORE, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God’s service, Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another. Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.”

When we refuse to make allowances in our heart for one another’s faults we portray a self-righteous attitude as if we never made a mistake.

We must realize God makes room for our mistakes so that we can grow and become His very best. That is why we must not always expose the faults of our fellow brethren in Christ but learn to cover and carry them in prayer.

This doesn’t mean we should not be honest to them by speaking the truth in love, but God is not pleased when we publish their errors on national television.

Love covers a multitude of sins.
