Walking in authority has to do with our faith in God. Our faith in God stems from our personal relationship with Him.

We all must know, power does not travel in words but in relationship.

The centurion’s authority came from the faith he put in the government he served under. The government backed his command because he spoke under the authority of his government. That is why he could command his military men and they listened and did what he said. That means, he had a personal relationship with his government.

“Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”

In other words, the centurion did not always have to be present in the physical for his officers under him to do what he said. All what he had to do, is give orders and they obeyed.

He was not even born again, but he understood what authority entailed. Thus saying to Jesus: ”If you have all power and authority in both worlds. That’s the spirit world and the natural world. Speak from where you are and my servant will be healed.”

That is great faith in display, based on his relationship with his government.

My question is: How is our personal relationship with God’s Word and fellowship in prayer?

For faith comes by constantly hearing God’s Word.

Faith comes by praying and is one of the spiritual things we receive as a gift from the Holy Spirit.

This implies for us to function in authority, our faith in God. What stems out of our relationship with Him is very important.

It’s time to build a personal relationship with God.
