-Food for thought day 86-

• Matthew 21:21-22
• James 1:5-7

Doubt is a thief that steals God’s blessings from His people. Many never received their miracle because they doubted God.

“And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:21-22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Many of a time we emphasize on the speaking part, but the key in the above text is “ ….do not doubt …”. There is no need to doubt when God speaks. When we doubt God, we are acting like spiritual prostitutes, having too many options. A man with too many options is confused.

“If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The Bible says: “ ….let not such a person imagine he will receive anything from the Lord…”. In other words, the person fails from receiving; not because he did not speak the right words, but because he doubted God.

God never lies, He does what He says He will do. That’s why He is God.

“God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?”
‭‭
Remember, God is faithful to Himself even when we are faithless.

“If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself. Remind [the people] of these facts and [solemnly] charge them in the presence of the Lord to avoid petty controversy over words, which does no good but upsets and undermines the faith of the hearers.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:13-14‬ ‭AMPC‬
