-Food for thought day 77-

• Mark 14:18-26
• Joshua 24:15

Every time a covenant is made, it works both ways. It works for and against a person depending on whether they conform to the rules of engagement in the covenant or not.

Judas partook of the Lord’s Body and then went behind His back and betrayed Him. Jesus did not curse Judas, but his actions brought a curse on himself. That is why we’re warned not to partake on the Lord’s table unworthily because we bring damnation on ourselves.

The reason for the damnation is due to the fact that we refuse to conform to the covenant.

“And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.”
‭‭
Judas partook of this covenant and he went ahead and did something contrary to it.

For this reason Joshua said: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
‭‭
It’s about time we choose serving God 100% so that we can experience the covenant blessings as the seed of Abraham in Christ and as joined heirs together with Christ.

Obedience releases covenant blessings and disobedience closes the heavens.

Let us all choose to obey God irrespective of the sacrifices we must make. There is a great reward for obedience.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
