-Food for thought day 42-

• Matthew 25:32-33

What separates a sheep from a goat, is whose instructions they choose to follow.

The other day Jesus said: “But you do not believe and trust and rely on Me because you do not belong to My fold [you are no sheep of Mine]. The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.”
‭‭
Sheep rely on God’s ability and always heed to His instructions, but goats don’t. Jesus said that the people did not believe or trust in Him because they were not His sheep.

“Jesus answered them, I have told you so, yet you do not believe Me [you do not trust Me and rely on Me]. The very works that I do by the power of My Father and in My Father’s name bear witness concerning Me [they are My credentials and evidence in support of Me]. But you do not believe and trust and rely on Me because you do not belong to My fold [you are no sheep of Mine].”
‭‭
In other words, He was saying that they are of another sheepfold being influenced by the devil.

“Why do you misunderstand what I say? It is because you are unable to hear what I am saying. [You cannot bear to listen to My message; your ears are shut to My teaching.] You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me [do not trust Me, do not rely on Me, or adhere to Me].”
‭‭
So goats depend on their own understanding, ability and are indirectly controlled by the devil although they will refuse to acknowledge it.

It’s so simple to follow God’s Voice when we learn to read His Word and practice it.

Question: Are you a goat or a sheep?

Choose to be a sheep by putting into practice what you read (yourself) from the Word of God or being taught by your pastor from God’s Word.

It’s time to make a change!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
