Today we read:
Proverbs 25-27

-Food for thought day 334-

• Romans 11:5-6 TLB
• Galatians 5:4-6 MSG

When you learn to appreciate Christ for what He has done for you, you will love all men having no prejudices. Your love for people should not be based on their good deeds, but by God’s grace that came to you.

The Word of God says: “So too at the present time there is a remnant (a small believing minority), selected (chosen) by grace (by God’s unmerited favor and graciousness). But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace [it would be meaningless].”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭11:5-6‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God’s way of choosing you or saving you was not by good works or deeds, but by His kindness and not by being good enough. If it was by good deeds the free gift (Jesus Christ) would no longer be free, but people must be qualified or earned their salvation.

You being saved is according to grace and not by being good enough, that is why your love for people should be the same.

We are not the ones responsible for saving people, God is. Our duty is to love His creatures the same way He loves us.

Many have fallen far from grace because their love for people was based on good deeds. They’re trying to justify their love for people by the law (set of rules and regulations) but not by grace. You should love by grace because it’s by His grace through faith that we are saved and not by works (Ephesians 2:8).

The Word of God says: “If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God’s gracious favor and unmerited blessing). For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us] to hope. For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:4-6‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

That means when you find it difficult to love people, you’re functioning under the law and that is the reason why you constantly live in sin.

Remember: our appreciation of God’s love for us is expressed by loving people. For your love for God is expressed by how you love people.

Live by His grace and not works!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
