When we are dealing with guilt, it is a signal that we have not forgiven ourselves of the mistakes we made. People that feel guilty always attributes their mishaps to their past errors.

The truth of the matter is you are dealing with the accuser of the brethren (the devil) not God.

Joseph’s brothers were guilty of what they did to him. So as soon as their father passed away, they thought Joseph will change his mind towards them and mistreat them. What came out of their mouth was the state of their heart.

And Joseph said to them: “ Fear not; for am I in the place of God? [Vengeance is His, not mine.] As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are this day. Now therefore, do not be afraid. I will provide for and support you and your little ones. And he comforted them [imparting cheer, hope, strength] and spoke to their hearts [kindly].”

Joseph acted the way God acts when He forgives us. God does not only forgives us but He gives us a new beginning. However when we still feel guilty after forgiveness, it is because we are not following after the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.

That’s is why the Word of God says: “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit”.

We must learn to practice the Word, that is how we deal with guilt. Also, we must accept the forgiveness that Christ is offered to us and refuse to allow the voice of the accuser to keep torturing us. Jesus is the only One that is qualified to condemn or judge us, but He is praying for us.

As a matter of fact, our mess speaks of our past and not our present; and the God we serve does not take the mess of our past to qualify us for our future.

It’s time to move forward in Jesus’ Name.

NO MORE SHAME!!!

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
