Today we read:
Isaiah 26-27

The production of God’s Love isn’t by human ability, but by God Himself.

“Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.”

It’s God Himself that makes us able ministers of His Love. The world can never know we are God’s disciples without the Holy Spirit Himself advertising us.

That is why the Word of God says: “Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God. [It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive. [Jer. 31:31.]”

The power to love is not by human effort, but God’s. That’s why it was expedient for God to give us the Holy Spirit and also to spread His Love abroad in our hearts so that we can demonstrate the power of His Love to all we meet. Moreover, it’s important we constantly yield to the Holy Spirit to be consistent in God’s Love.

“However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.”

Remember: yielding to God is the key to walking in the inexhaustible power of God’s Love.
