The only way people will recognize you as a believer in Christ is through love.

“I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another. By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].”

Your love for fellow believers is a sign that you’re born again. However if you’ve hate for them is a sign that darkness is dominating you and that you’re in the dark. In other words, you’re not born again.

“We know that we have passed over out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in [spiritual] death. Anyone who hates (abominates, detests) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding (persevering) within him.”

Remember: walking in Love is the proof that you’re born again.
