Today we read:
1 Chronicles 23-24
1 Corinthians 3-4

-Food for thought day 218-

• Acts 9:36-40

The reason why we must reach out more to the needy is that we will be remembered for solving a problem for someone.

There was a certain lady called Dorcas, a disciple of Jesus Christ, who ministered to the poor by making dresses for them. One day she died and the people she took care of interceded for her life and she was brought back to life. They remembered Dorcas’ love and her ministrations to them and couldn’t afford to miss her, so they cried out to the Lord.

“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay coming to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he came, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:36-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The question is: what if Dorcas was selfish and refused to minister to the needs of her community?

People will always remember us for the love we show to them through the problems God uses us to solve.

As believers in Christ, it’s up to us to decide how we want to be remembered.

Remember: God’s Love always gives a helping hand to the needy.

Choose to be remembered for the problems you solved in people’s lives and not the ones you create.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.

Think and act!!!
