The practice of fellowship with one another is like giving a cup of water to one another to drink. However, Jesus Christ highlighted this, given a cup of water by saying: “For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.”

In Christ, one of the ways we fellowship with Jesus Christ is when we are fellowshipping with our brethren (1 John 1:7). That is why you should not forsake the gathering of the saints together (Hebrew 10:25) and not harbor offence in your heart towards one another. However, harboring offense or unforgiveness; is like refusing him a cup of water and also fellowship with Jesus Christ. And there’s no reward in refusing to minister to others while you’re expecting God to minister to you.

That is why the Word of God says: “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Forgiving someone that has wronged us is like giving the person a cup of water to drink. Jesus Christ demonstrated this by asking the Father to forgive us for all our trespasses (Luke 22:34). He went as far as shedding His blood for our sins to be remitted (Hebrew 9:22). Now we are reconciled to God based on what He did. That is giving a cup of water to someone in need.

His reward for doing what He did; us being saved.

Remember: love is always looking for someone to give a cup of water to drink; this is true fellowship.

Give someone a cup of water to drink today.
