The way we act is linked to our daily meditations. Change does not just happen without first changing the way we view ourselves and the circumstances we’re facing in life. And all this has to do with our meditations.

God can’t use us without first of all changing the way we think.

When God visited Jacob and asked him to return to Bethel, the first thing Jacob did is to set his house in order by requesting that they throw away their idols (religion, tradition, human philosophy) and garments (which is a symbol of their belief system or how they think) so that they can embrace what God has for them.

God does not need what we think we know in order to do what He wants to do with us. He is all sufficient by Himself to accomplish His mandate for our lives, but we must yield to His Word to experience His purpose being fulfilled in and through us.

A great example is Moses. Moses was afraid to go back to Egypt to confront pharaoh, because he was counting on himself; but God told Moses you will not confront pharaoh with your might, I will do it through you. God had to give Moses an experience through signs and wonders to change his mindset about himself and who God is.

The same is with us in Christ. Until we undo our old ways of thinking by purposely being cloth with Christ (His Word) daily, we will not experience what God has promised us.

Jacob and His family could not experience God’s best until they got rid of their old ways of doing things. We can’t pour new wine in old wineskin, otherwise the wine will burst the skin and both wine and the wineskin will be ruined. No! We pour new wine into new wineskin.

For this cause the Word of God is given to us so that our mind will be renewed and we will be conformed to the image of Christ.

Our new life in Christ will be so meaningful if only we embrace the mind of Christ which He is given to us.

Choose to embrace the mind of Christ for it’s our weapon against the wiles of satan.
