“Where your treasure is, that is where your heart is.” Our love for God and people can be measured by what dominates our heart.

The Word of God says: “Love gives the other the first choice.” When your life is so occupied with fulfilling God’s Kingdom mandate (Luke 4:18) it says much about the state of your heart. But when you’re so driven in fulfilling your own goals, it’s a sign you are selfish.

Jesus Christ said: “Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free].”

The above text was an expression of what was in the heart of Christ and His Love for people. He was people focused and doing God’s will in people’s life; that was His obsession. He made God’s agenda His priority and by doing so He was fulfilled.

The state of Christ’s heart was expressed by His selfless way of living. It was never about Him, but about the people. In the people is where His treasure is.

It’s about time we examine the state of our heart when it comes to walking in God’s Love.

Remember: your love for God and people is tested by the state of your heart.
