Today we read:
2 Samuel 23-24
-Food for thought day 166-
• Lamentations 3:22-23
God’s Love is steadfast!
“The Steadfast Love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
In other words, God’s Love doesn’t change because of peoples opinion or if their attitude towards it changes.
The word “steadfast” means: to be loyal to something or someone irrespective of the challenges encountered. As a matter of fact, we experience the greater Love of God in our weaknesses. When we think it is over and all hope is gone, that is when God’s Love lifts us up and set us back on our feet to move forward.
Do you know that God’s Love in you is steadfast (Romans 5:5)?
We should not be people that give up, but we must learn to believe God’s Best in people, even when we’ve seen the worst of them (1 Corinthians 13:7).
It is due to His Steadfast Love that Paul was able to glory in his weaknesses.
You can walk in the steadfastness of His Love as you yield to the Holy Spirit, Who lives inside of you. Yielding to the Holy Spirit has to do with being the practitioner of God’s Word.
It is always good to remember were you where, when the Love of God found you. God’s Love located you in your worst state. That is when He lavished His superabundant Love upon you. That Love did not change. It’s the same and consistent though it doesn’t feel that way to your flesh (Romans 5:8).
We as believers must be steadfast in our love for people irrespective of their attitude.
Remember: Love believes the best and never fails.
Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
