• Romans 8:16
• Psalm 18:28
• Exodus 13:21

To love someone is to guide them. You cannot love without guiding the ones you love.

The word “guide” means to show the way to others or to be an escort, conductor or a pilot. Now being a pilot will mean you make sure the Airbus gets to its destination on the basis of the road map, irrespective of the turbulence. It is the same in giving love to people. Your purpose is to guide them to get to their destination as the Spirit leads you, irrespective of their attitude.

The reason why the people need guidance is because they don’t know the way.

For example, when the children of Israel left Egypt, they didn’t know the way out. God had to guide them everyday by the Pillar of Fire and the Cloud. God did not stop to guide them irrespective of their attitude (Ex 13:21). He did this because of His Love for them.

That is why the Word of God says: “For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:28‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God wants to use us to guide others in His Love as we allow His Spirit in us to lead us.

When Jesus said to be Peter “ feed My lambs”. He meant: be the escort or pilot to the lambs.

The psalmist said: “Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23:4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The reason why Jesus Christ uses chastisement to guide us instead of letting us drawn is, because of His Love for us. He guides us daily, though we may not always understand the how. That is why the enemy (adversary) hasn’t gotten his way over us.

It’s for this purpose that Jesus said to Peter: “Feed My lambs”. Jesus was telling him to guide the lambs.

The Bible says: “When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these [others do–with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Feed My lambs. Again He said to him the second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion, as one loves the Father]? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. He said to him, Shepherd (tend) My sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with a deep, instinctive, personal affection for Me, as for a close friend]? Peter was grieved (was saddened and hurt) that He should ask him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You [that I have a deep, instinctive, personal affection for You, as for a close friend]. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.”
‭‭John‬ ‭21:15-17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The English word “feed” comes from the Greek word “bosko”. Bosko means many things, but one of the meanings is to guide someone.

You cannot go ahead professing God’s Love for people without giving them guidance.

Remember: Love is a road map to people; that is why love never quits on people.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
