-Food for thought day 131-

• Luke 17:1-5
• Isaiah 55:10-11

When you learn to rely on God and not your own ability, it’s easy to love people. Because you’re trusting God and not yourself to bring about a change in the life of the person you’re giving love to.

“AND [Jesus] said to His disciples, Temptations (snares, traps set to entice to sin) are sure to come, but woe to him by or through whom they come! It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea than that he should cause to sin or be a snare to one of these little ones [lowly in rank or influence]. Pay attention and always be on your guard [looking out for one another]. If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him. And even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times and says, I repent [I am sorry], you must forgive him (give up resentment and consider the offense as recalled and annulled). The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God).”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:1-5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

In verse 5, the apostles said: “increase our faith”. You can only grow in your trust which stems out of your knowledge in God as you pursue your relationship with Him consistently. The more you get to know God, the easier it is to love people, because people are His focus.

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The primary purpose for which God sent Jesus Christ into this world, is to save people from spiritual death and give them eternal life. That is why loving people is loving God. Therefore, you must have your trust fixed on God’s ability, not yours to change people as you give them love.

Remember, God’s Word never fails. Your duty is to practice God’s Word and His duty is to make it come to pass in people’s life.

“For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, [II Cor. 9:10.] So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:10-11‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

It’s about time we learn to trust in God as we walk in love.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
