Deuteronomy 19-20
Psalms 45

-Food for thought day 103-

• Hebrews 12:5-9
• Malachi 3:2-3

Every true relationship must go through a process of purging for fruitfulness. As a matter of fact, the challenges that we face in our walk with God makes us appreciate His love for us.

Those chastisements we experience in our lives is the fire of God’s love to shape and mould us to be vessels of honour for His use.

“And have you [completely] forgotten the divine word of appeal and encouragement in which you are reasoned with and addressed as sons? My son, do not think lightly or scorn to submit to the correction and discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage and give up and faint when you are reproved or corrected by Him; For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes. You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline? Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. [Prov. 3:11, 12.] Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded [to them] and respected [them for training us]. Shall we not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so [truly] live?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:5-9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

God uses trials in our lives to sharpen us. Nobody loves trials, but it is in them that we get wisdom. As a matter of fact, today’s wisdom was birthed as a result of yesterday’s affliction or test.

“So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

These tests are the fire of God’s love helping us to be the people He called us to be.

“But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap; [Rev. 6:12-17.] He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the priests, the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord offerings in righteousness.”
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We should not see affliction as God abandoning us, but as God’s love for us.

Remember, whom God loves He chastises.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
