Today we read:
1 Corinthians 11-15

-Food for thought 2020 Day 200-

Scripture of meditation:
• Joshua‬ ‭1:7-8

“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can not discard old methods of God promoting people and expect to be promoted.

Moses could only stand in the office of a prophet because he yielded to instructions and stuck to the covenant contract; it was the same with Joshua. It is easy for everyone to say: “we are the Joshua’s of this era.” The truth is that Joshua’s promotion was linked to following the instructions commanded by God to Moses and sticking to the covenant contract as well. Promotion is not automatic. We must practice what God instructs us to do.

Joshua’s promotion came as a result of meditating on God’s Word and by practicing it; he had good success. He was under authority and did submit and yield to the instructions from his leadership. His promotion to the office of Moses did not just happen. He was qualified by God for the task.

The same thing happened to Solomon before He was promoted. His promotion came as a result of following instructions and sticking to the terms of their covenant contract with God.

The Word of God says:

“Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying, I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong, therefore, and shew thyself a man; And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭2:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now, Solomon’s promotion could only happen by sticking to the above text.

There’s no short cut to promotion!

Remember: old methods are not to be discarded for promotion comes from the Lord (Psalm 75:4-5).

I pray for the spirit of submission and humility to dominate you and that you yield to God’s commands and His covenant contract for your life, in Jesus’ Name.

Many blessings in Jesus’ Name.
