Scripture of meditation:
• Ezekiel 44:23-24

Every believer in Christ must have faith in the leadership God has placed within His Church in Christ. As a matter of fact, the fivefold ministry is God’s providence to His Church. That means the counsel of the fivefold ministry is important to us as believers in Christ.

“And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church), [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him. So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.”

The above text is the purpose of the fivefold ministry and that also includes Ephesians 4:15-16. If this is the reason for the fivefold ministry, then it’s important that we pay heed to what our leaders have to say and bring that into practice. Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit will guide us through the fivefold ministry.

“The priests shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the common or profane, and cause them to distinguish between the unclean and the clean. And in a controversy, they shall act as judges, and they shall judge according to My judgments; and they shall keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts, and they shall keep My Sabbaths holy.”

That means we ought to learn from the fivefold ministry to know how to go after the affairs of life. When you refuse to come under the leadership of the fivefold ministry, it means you’re rebelling against God’s authority and providence for your life and there’s no way by which His Spirit can guide you.

The Word of God says: “the Spirit and the Word agree”.

It’s your duty as a believer in Christ to come under the authority and God’s providence of the fivefold ministry because you can experience God’s chastisement or get yourself in problems by thinking you don’t need anyone to help you or give you counsel.

Nobody is self-sufficient except God Himself. That’s is why you must come under His providence if you’re expecting guidance by His Spirit.

Remember: The Spirit of God works through the fivefold ministry to order your steps into maturity.

Open your spirit for God’s providence placed in your life!
