Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!” Philippians 2:5-8 AMPC
A great key of walking in victory is absolute obedience. We can’t experience victory when we are not obedient to God’s word.
Although He was a Son, He learned [active, special] obedience through what He suffered And, [His completed experience] making Him perfectly [equipped], He became the Author and Source of eternal salvation to all those who give heed and obey Him, [Isa. 45:17.]” Hebrews 5:8-9 AMPC
It was because Jesus completely obeyed even to the point of death that cause God to Highly exalt Him and gave Him a name that is above every other name.
The opposite of obedience is rebellion which is a breathing place for pride. And without obedience to God’s word we can’t resist the devil.
So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 AMPC
Obedience to God’s instructions or His word is a great key to walking in victory.
Let’s pray together:
Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me by Your Spirit as an obedient child to stay obedient to God’s word in Jesus name. Amen
