NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord
God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden? [Rev. 12:9-11.] And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit from the trees of the garden, Except the fruit from the tree which is in
the middle of the garden. God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing the difference between good and evil and blessing and calamity.” Genesis 3:1‭-‬3‭, ‬5 AMPC

One of the methods which the enemy is using is deception. We are only deceived when we heed to things that are contrary to what God’s word says and also when we open ourselves to listen to Satan’s lies. God wants us to be offensive whenever the enemy is saying things to us that are contrary to God’s word.

In Luke 4:1-12 Jesus Christ had the same temptation like Adam and Eve but He used the word of God against the enemy. He refuse to give room to the lies of satan. He was so aggressive towards the enemy and will not even permit him to keep on talking. He used the very word God gave to Him.

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 AMPC

Today take the sword of the Spirit which is God’s word and use it
against the wiles of satan and he will flee from you. That’s how you
maintain your victory in Christ against deception.

N.B: Anything contrary to God’s word is deception.

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Help me by Your Spirit to continually stand fast against the wiles of satan in Jesus name. Amen.
