This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.” 1 John 1:5-6 NLT
We can’t be practicing sin which attracts darkness and we say we’re in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
When we go ahead and practice sin we are like an unfaithful wife or husband who goes astray from their marital vows.
You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.” James 4:4 AMP
We should learn not to compromise our fellowship with the Holy Spirit with anything that does not bring glory to God Almighty. Sometimes the things we do or say do grief Him.
We should examine ourselves in light with God’s word and asked the Holy Spirit to reveal to us those things that we are doing or saying which grief Him and also tries to come in between our fellowship with Him, The Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word. Search through Your Spirit and expose to me those things in my life which hinders the free flow of the Holy Spirit fellowship with me in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
