For brass I will bring gold, …..” Isaiah 60:17 KJV

Many so called born again Christians are practicing profanity. Some even go to church and still fornicate, i.e. sex before/outside the marriage covenant. Now, one of the great lessons we receive from Esau, is that he sold his birthright and God Almighty called him profane.

A profane person is one who does not have respect for spiritual things (God’s word). These people don’t only disrespect themselves, but also have disregard for the things of God and live a careless life.

Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.” Hebrews 12:16 KJV

Esau could not control his appetite for worldly affection so ends up losing his birthright. That is his authority, honor and dignity. All three stands for God’s word to us. God’s word in our lives is what makes us who we are in this evil world.

So the moment we compromise the word of God, which is likened to gold in Revelation 3:18, we automatically are selling our birthright to the devil or we’re compromising our destiny in Christ Jesus.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” Proverbs 25:28 KJV

Adam and Eve also sold their dominion to the devil because they were profane. Hell is for the profane. Don’t allow the spirit of profanity to rule your life.

Refuse to substitute gold for bronze. Bronze here stands for that which the devil requires you to do that goes contrary to God’s word for your life.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I repent from taking Your word lightly. Today I bind and rebuke the spirit of profanity in my life in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
