Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my [sad] countenance, and my God.” Psalm 43:5 AMP
Whenever we are hurting and we hide it, it will turn to anger and when anger is hiding it moves to revenge. At this point you are dealing with the thought of doing evil against the person that has offended you and you can easily transfer your aggression to innocent people. Sometimes you hear people ” say well that’s they way they treated me so you get what you deserve.” All this is a sign that depression is knocking at our door.
Whenever we act in vengeance we become the judge over our situation. Because vengeance is a sign that we pass judgement already so we no more need God. It is never in our place to revenge. It’s God’s place avenge our case.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. [Deut. 32:35.] Romans 12:19 AMP
And is also a sign we have refuse to forgive. Just as Jesus Christ forgave us while we were still in our sins before we got born again.
Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 AMP
