When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.” Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord ,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But The Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:1-4, 9 NLT

Is it not remarkable how we can easily forget the great victories we have obtained from The Lord? Here is one of the greatest prophets in the Bible, Elijah, desiring to die because of a huge threat. Elijah just killed ALL the prophets of Baal! The Lord displayed His power and might to show everyone that He is the living God! He answers Elijah’s prayer by fire (For the whole story please read 1 Kings 18:16-40)!

Elijah however was more impressed by the words of a man than what God was saying. To what or who have you been listening? What impressed you more today than the words of Jesus Himself? Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT).

In what kind of cave are you stuck? Is it stress? Discouragement? Fear? Doubt? Unbelief? Sickness or diseases? A cave is dark and very depressing. Are you at the point of being suicidal? Being in a dark place is not going to help you anyways… it is time for you to come out in the name of Jesus!

God is asking you as He was asking Elijah: “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?”

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me.” Psalms 103:2 NLT

Did you forget so soon where you came from? Has The Lord not done anything good in your life? If He did it then, He can surely do it again! For Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NLT).

Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram. Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel-meholah to replace you as my prophet. Anyone who escapes from Hazael will be killed by Jehu, and those who escape Jehu will be killed by Elisha! Yet I will preserve 7,000 others in Israel who have never bowed down to Baal or kissed him!” 1 Kings 19:15-18 NLT

Your blessing lies in what you refuse to confront. God is The Master Architect. Elijah was worried about things that God had already figured out! It is in a carnal state that you can not acces spiritual things. Your assignment is not over yet! Did you even start? So stop the pity party and kick that demon of heaviness out in Jesus Name! Your own life and peoples destinies are at stake. Just because you feel something that does not mean it is real. Besides we live by The Word of God and not what we feel!

Let’s pray together and confess with me out loud:

Heavenly Father,

I repent that I have set things or people above Your Word. Forgive me Lord and wash me with the precious Blood of Jesus. I refuse to stay stuck in Jesus Name! I bind and rebuke every demonic activity in my life in the Name of Jesus! I come against stress, hurt, pain, unforgiveness, heaviness, hate, grief, bitterness, anger and strife in my life in Jesus Name! From today I am moving forward! Forward ever, backward never in the Name of Jesus! I am the head and not the tail. I am blessed in my coming in and in my coming out! And I am coming out with all the spoils in Jesus Name! Amen
