Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

When the enemy wants to attack you he will cause you to remember what you need to forget (your past mistakes and errors or what people did to you and he wants you to forget (God’s Word: which speaks of your present and future) what you need to remember.

God Almighty is calling us to be spiritually alert in dealing with the devil..When we dwell in our past it makes it difficult for us to see or understand what God is doing in our lives.

Our past errors only brings us to the place of self condemnation. When we feel condemned we lost our sense of righteousness in Christ and our position in Christ. In this state  the enemy takes advantage over us and puts us in a spiritually weakened state and begin to torment us. This is the reason why we must learn to dwell and hold fast to God’s Word which points us to where we are going and reveal who we are to in Christ to us.

We are not our past we are what God says we are. We should refuse to allow the devil to talk us out of our sense of righteousness and our now position in Christ.

Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].” ‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:27‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

We should also remember God’s plans for us is success and the devils plans for us is failure.

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Today choose to embrace God’s plans for your life and refuse to dwell in your past. Forget your past and move forward in Jesus name. It is a new day.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word. I let go of my past and step into my new beginning which is Your Word for my life in Jesus name. Amen
