The solution for guilt is intimacy.
Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity). By this we shall come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we are of the Truth, and can reassure (quiet, conciliate, and pacify) our hearts in His presence, Whenever our hearts in [tormenting] self-accusation make us feel guilty and condemn us. [For we are in God’s hands.] For He is above and greater than our consciences (our hearts), and He knows (perceives and understands) everything [nothing is hidden from Him]. And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God, And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him.” 1 John 3:18-22 AMP
Most of time we believers feel guilty which comes as a result of sin. Now the bible says:
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].” 1 John 1:9 AMP
But most of the time, though our sins are forgiving, guilt, which is the effect of sin, only leaves our lives when we choose to go after intimacy. The bible never talks about cleansing from guilt, but it speaks of cleansing from sin. Due to the fact that it’s easy for us to ask God Almighty to forgive us, but is another thing for us to make a decision follow after Jesus Christ after our sins are forgiving.
The guilt is the voice of our concience that accuses us for not appreciating the work of the blood of Jesus Christ in our lives and also for not going after Jesus Christ.
And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God, Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:21-22 AMP
It’s time to choose to follow after Jesus Christ.
